Dolls and Divas: An Analysis

So since we are putting the decision of whether or not to keep the Divas, revert back to the Dolls, or get completely new Models (what I'll call her for clarity reasons), I decided to do a side-by-side comparison of the Divas to the Dolls.

Both my Doll and Diva. I believe that was my last Doll and this is my current Diva.

Alright so, let's start with the Doll. She just looks super fabulous! Very diva-like and supermodel-esque! I like how her right hand (left side of image) looks as opposed to the Diva's left hand. However, her ankles and feet look really really weird! But then again, so does the Diva's right foot. I also like how the Diva is posed so you can see the whole shoe.

The hand on the hip pose on the Diva is not fierce enough right now to be really Divalicious. She is doing more the "standing there listening to you" hand on the hip instead of the "end of the runway, strike a pose" hand on the hip. The Doll's pose actually looks like she is posing either in front of a camera or at the end of the catwalk. However, her shoulders are awkward and really stiff looking.

Now onto hair. I just loved the different styles for the Doll, as well as the colors. The shading for hair was awesome too, so that some colors, it would look like highlights. The Diva's hairstyles are rather boring to me. They seem too perfect, with not a piece out of place where as the Doll sometimes had the windblown look.

So a very important detail next: the face. Both faces are pretty, in different ways. The Doll had very unique features, just like models do: pouty lips, piercing eyes. However, her nose always was off for me. The Diva, while she has more delicate features, is pretty in the girl-next-door way. She has a more oval-shaped face, which is definitely more feminine than the Doll's. But she just doesn't have the fierceness to her. That je ne sais quoi is just missing!

But I think the main reason I miss my Doll is the huge selection of clothes. Sure, there was lots more time to develop clothes for the Doll, but even the quality of the clothes for the Diva are lacking compared to the Doll's. The Doll just had a glossiness to her, as did her clothes. The Diva, on the other hand, had a rather dull closet with clothes that occasionally looked the same.

I think this is the main reason people are going to vote Doll: not really the fact that the Doll is so much better, but because the Doll comes with her wardrobe. The fact that the huge wardrobe will be here is a huge draw for members because right now, there aren't that many selections. It has less to do with quality but quantity, I think.

And I agree. I do not really mind which base I had: Doll, Diva, or Model. I just want to have a whole boatload of clothes to dress her in!
